Greetings from President Michael Margotta at the start of a new Rotary year
Hello Fellow Rotarians!
Rotary has started a new year, and I am looking forward to serving you as President. I want to extend a special thank you to Maui Meyer, our outgoing President, for the fantastic job he has done this past year. In addition to leading us through informative and enjoyable luncheons, Maui has done an amazing job behind the scenes updating all our administrative responsibilities with District 5100 and Rotary International. I am sure Maui is looking forward to less strenuous “Past President” duties.
Along with my new leadership role, Lee McPherson will step in as our new President Elect and Jon Davies is shifting from a director position on our Board to the Treasurer’s position. I am honored to have the role of leading our Board of Directors for what I expect will be another fun year of community service and giving, particularly the assistance we provide to our local youth as they extend their education.
I hope to continue the evolution from the hangover of COVID’s impact through activities to promote member fellowship, hopefully creating a greater sense of focus on growing our club again. To do so, we must present value to prospective members and fulfill a need for them that will make Rotary a worthwhile effort.
The Club has enacted a corporate membership classification, and we will be looking to expand our reach to some of the larger organizations within the county. Additionally, our Membership Co-Chairs, Tanner Hall and David Fenwick, are revamping the current prospect review and application process to expedite those interested in full membership in a timelier and better educated manner.
We, collectively, are a terrific club. I am proud to have the opportunity to be your club President in 2024-2025.
Please come to our luncheons regularly, donate your time and effort toward community enhancement and enjoy the fellowship Hood River Rotary has to offer in this coming year.
See you soon,
Michael Margotta
